Fertility Reflexology
What are the benefits of fertility reflexology?
Achieving a balanced physiological, mental and emotional state is essential for successful conception. Oftentimes, our bodies are in a state of fight or flight without us even realising it. This can make it difficult for us to relax and help ourselves unwind. Reflexology is a great way to calm and restore balance in the nervous system. When our nervous system is in balance, it creates a domino effect that helps to regulate our hormones, allowing us to be in the best state for conception. Therefore reflexology is a holistic way to restore balance and promote healthy hormones, and it can be incredibly calming and have many positive effects on your overall well-being.
Reflexology is also an excellent choice for people struggling with endometriosis, PCOS, irregular cycles, or undergoing IVF treatments. By targeting specific reflex points, it can help reduce symptoms, promote healthier hormones, and create a better environment for conception.
The fertility journey can be emotionally demanding and draining, and reflexology sessions may be able to help by creating a peaceful environment, reducing stress and anxiety, and overall feelings of tension. It can make that journey much more manageable.
What happens in a fertility reflexology appointment?
During the initial consultation, which will last approximately 90 minutes, you will be asked questions about your medical history, any lifestyle habits that may affect you, and if you have had any fertility treatments in the past. It will consist of a 30 minute conversation followed by a 60 minute treatment.
Once you are settled comfortably your reflexology treatment will start. It can be a very calming experience that allows you to take some time off and relax. Some people even find themselves dozing off during the session.
Any treatments after the initial consultation will be 60 minutes and will include a short chat about progress and experiences.
How often should I come for reflexology?
It is usually recommended that weekly check-ins for 4-6 weeks are a useful starting point, however it is very case specific and a treatment plan can be adjusted for your particular case. Some may require more sessions - up to 6 months - and some may require fewer.
Reflexology can be beneficial for your cycle at any point; and a treatment plan can be adjusted to meet the specific needs of your current cycle stage.
If you're in the process of IVF, it is recommended scheduling your treatments at specific times for optimal results. More can be shared on this during your consultation.
